i was on the track team for 2 years and then i stopped because i hated meets lol...
asics :D
asics ftw
I have a pair that I used for 2 cross country seasons and track seasons and they still work fine, they have hella long life
I just bought some new ones too.. so nice
I used to be all about NB's but they aren't that great anymore imo.. at least not for XC running

how many miles you guys run in them b4 replacing em.
I run sprints so my soles tend to wear out fast. Why asics? Are they really that comfy? I had one pair and but i ended up going back to mizuno.
lol the ones that I used for all those seasons I still use for practice sometimes, and as my pe shoes.
I've had them since the end of 2006. I ran approx. 8-10 miles a week in them for each XC season, which lasted for 3 months each. Plus both summers which I put in at least.. 50 miles each? Probably more. Plus regular casual running and training. +track (training, because I use speed shoes for meets).
That's all one one pair of shoes. So basically, I beat the shit out of them. They still feel fine though, imo. :D
Although, there is a big difference between my fresh asics and my killed ones in terms of comfort, I just think that the older ones are still fit to use. Haha, maybe I'll take a picture of them, they're pretty messed up.
I remember trying on mizuno's in sports authority once, they were like the same as asics, only more expensive.. And my running coach recommends asics anyways.
Idk, maybe mizunos are better for sprinters, I'm a long distance runner, so yea..

lol, I'd have to go look at 'em. I'll tell you when I get home.
They're probably those though..They sound really familiar. There were these really sick kayano's that had japanese on the tongue of the shoe or something.. I remember wanting them really bad lol, they were so nice

those are it. if you want japanese brand, go for mizuno. hella sturdy and good for motion control.
or did u want the asics because they have kanji on it.
lol the asics were really nice comfort and performance wise, the kanji was just a bonus.. I'm a sucker for japanese influenced stuff lol
but yea, if you've been using mizunos, I might try them out next time I need running shoes, which might be soon. They make track shoes too?

yeah. they make cleats too i think.
and you can't be serious about running roadies.
this is the sports sub-section.
^^ awesome, I'll be needing a pair of sprint shoes when the season begins in a week or two. I'll check 'em out.
I run in roadstas :D

i dont know, i have never liked xc either.. sprinter myself.
i think they just go to parks and run around for hours.. lmao
and i just like asics because they are really comfy (:
but i suppose the only thing i had to compare them to was my old-ass new balances..? i thought i like NB until i bought a pair of asics. so light!

xcountry must suck ass. running around for hours on end. nothing changes. sumone tell me about their xcountry experience.
and yeah, asics are really light. and they totally SUCK for running in the rain!! it felt like running in a box of wet sponges or something. thats the only thing i hate about running shoes. they are probably the least water-resistant shoes on the planet. next to flip flops or sandals or something
crocs anyone? :)
oh yeah, I've run with my asics in mud during a downpour for one of my xc meets. Fun.
Basically for cross country, the track is laid out over forests, hills, wildlife parks, etc. Jv meets are 2 miles, Var is 3. Basically it's just a really long race, there's a starting line and a finish line. Sometimes there's rain.
For practice, we run 5-10 miles or more, at least once a week. I usually run across the island I live on, across a big bridge and halfway through another island right next to mine, and then all the way back. It's fun.
I love xc because I hate running around a track a bunch of times, lol. In xc there's so much awesome scenery to look at, and a bunch of xc tracks have lots of variety. Plus there's this one track that I run on that's harsh uphill for 1 1/2 miles, and then the rest is crazy ass turns and stuff over a mile of downhill. It's hella fun. :D Plus there's always the danger of falling off a cliff or something hahaha.

I run In new balance's there cheap enough so I could buy more than one pair at a time and still be able not to wear the same pair of shoes twice in a month
^^ yeah, I know what you mean. I once copped a pair of NB's for $25.. They go on sale really often..
lol, pics of my beat up asics 'cause I felt like it.. The flash made these shoes look a LOT whiter than they really are.. :D But hey, they're still good. Broken in, you could say.

I have nike 180s, not good for the hill though because they're just a tad big so my feet fuckin slide when I'm going down the hill.

Nike Free trainer 7.0 is the best out there right now-- lightweight and durable.
I had Air Max 360's last time but the air bubble popped because the area I train in is uneven and littered with sharp stones. It can also pop if you're hella fat.

LOL but it can actually happen. I'm 5'10" 160lbs and I popped mine from running hella hard on uneven ground with stones. Some people have popped road sta air bubbles just by walking.

I have flat feet so I usually get padded ones from new balance, extremely comfy... especially for long distances.
