Resources and Tools for Bape legit checks
I. Required photos
II. Legit check guidelines and tips
III. Where to purchase legit Bape products
What can we authenticate?
Bape - just about anything, past or present.
Please note that there may be a degree of difficulty for vintage items (90's - early 2000's), as well as Aape by A Bathing Ape products.
Billionaire Boys Club - season 0 through season 11 / 12 (2004 - 2011)
What can we --not-- authenticate?
Typically, items that are not manufactured by Bape themselves.
Items such as Bape x Adidas, Bape x Comme des Garcons and Bape x Puma, including apparel and sneakers.
In most cases, these items are highly difficult to authenticate as they are made to different standards, and the things we usually rely on for legit check purposes are either not present or vastly different from Bape-manufactured products.
Why can we not authenticate BBC items post-seasons 11 / 12?
Bape and BBC were always manufactured in the same factory - that is, until 2011, when Nigo sold Bape to a Chinese fashion conglomerate. After the sale, there was a disruption in manufacturing. BBC was stuck in limbo. Production returned after a lengthy hiatus, but in different factories around the globe - China, SE Asia, India and even South America. Quality of BBC products dropped considerably, and quite frankly, I was no longer interested in the brand.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
As I am not aware of any standard of quality for newer BBC items, your best bet for authenticating BBC may just be proof of purchase.
