^I think alot of the younger members (myself included) got into BBC when it was hard to buy and now a lot of people have paid crazy amounts for something that won't be "exclusive" anymore...
yeah i was like that, i was a fan of it around 2006 maybe, never could afford it nor did my parents want to buy any of it for me. it took me about 3 years to finally get some. i dont particularly care if it becomes less exclusive, i've only seen one other person in my school wear bape/bbc. i just wear what i like, and if you think its not good enough for you i'll simply buy the clothes i like for relatively cheap prices.

I think people will jump off it when the hype eventually dies but for quite a few of us on here who actually like the brand will continue to buy it or just keep the items they bought.

We're like a faithful partner while the other partner fucks anything it can.

I like this ^^

^^so by your logic only a billionaire can wear a tee shirt with the words billionaire boys club on it......so what do you say to all the kids around here with Air Jordan's because i damn sure haven't seen any espn highlights of BT members dunking on anyone......and when you say "pretty soon this shit will be like 10 Deep or any of those other washed up brands from the mid 2000's that no one gives a fuck about anymore." how about you keep it real and say "pretty soon this shit will be like 10 Deep or any of those other washed up brands from the mid 2000's that I DON'T GIVE a fuck about anymore." it sure sounded like you tried to pass your opinion off as a fact ;)
NO not only billionaires can wear a shirt with the word billionaire on it, that would be silly because then Pharrel couldn't wear it either. I just think it is a bit of a foolish brand. The brands saying in itself is a massive contradicition of the brand, but perhaps they saw the error in that and thats why they now only charge $40 a T.

And I wasn't trying to state my opinion as fact, if you want me to be more clear I could have said "any of those other washed up brands from the mid 2000's that no one with any real taste gives a fuck about anymore".

Face it street wear as it once was is dead. It has been reduced to the stuff that children wear. Same thing happened to Skate clothing. It was cool and underground, then it blew up and could be bought anywhere, now children wear it. Same thing happened with most street wear.

The smart streetwear brands were proactive and grew their style before it was too late. Other brands like 10 deep, crooks and castles, and soon BBC, have all ended up washed up. Bape has survived this as they are more than a streetwear brand, they are a lifestyle brand. Mind you the way they run their business has had them close to being washed up as well.

EDIT; Also: Jordans just have a cool logo on them, they dont say "Hey I can slam dunk", and they are also a celebration of the greatest player to ever play the game. Big difference.

Yes!

I remember begging my Dad for the season 1 D'n'D hoodie even saying it will be my Birthday, Christmas, Eid and broken foot money... He listened and when I said $250 he just said nope..

What put me off BBC was the people who wear it rather than exclusivity, pricing, etc. If anyone has been to a queue at the BBC store in NYC, you probably know what I mean. These kids look like clowns dressed head to toe in some ridiculous shit, idolizing Pharrell, acting like he can do no wrong like a groupie at some concert.

I don't want to be associated with any of them.

BBC drops something good every now and then but my money is better off elsewhere.

yeah i know i always wanted those camo hoodies. i look back when i bought my first BBC shirts which were $100 a piece back in 09, now there about $60 each at livestock. 2 years later it went down $40 bucks, i cant really complain at the price of that especially when theres stuff in stock that i actually like. some people may not like that, but i sure as hell see nothing wrong with it. if im getting a good price for something legit i'll be happy.

Pretty sure this is just a one time thing, promotion for BBC gear. They didn't even have that much items, I was really glad they did this, got to cop the zip-up for $8 shipping total with the rep points I saved up. Really not that big of a deal that they just put up a few items though really, and not even that much quantity of each.

This exactly. Also being at those same campouts, ive realized that the crowd of people who show up to them is not people I wanted to associate myself with so i stopped wearing the brand all together years ago

^Yeah but members are scattered all over the place.. I'm talking about literally seeing 5-10 groups of 5-6 people rocking almost exactly the same shit...

2010-11- Ralph Lauren, Ed hardy etc

2012- BBC, Jordans, vans/snapback/Low V-neck...

2013?? (jeggings maybe)
Ralph Lauren is and always will be a fashion staple.

Ed Hardy's only been cool with Poser/hipster crowd

Jordans will always be in. Vans will too because of longevity, history and simplicity. I'm not much of a snapback guy but fashion and style tend to repeat themselves just watch

I'm all with Vanity on this

^Yeah I know things like RL, Jordans and Vans will always be in.. I was just saying in London especially it has blown up again.. It got to a point where everyone and their mother had multiple polos and a lot of people got fake shit too just be in the crowd... Kinda like bape a few years ago haha...

This is just as sad that Caliroots(big clothing store in Sweden/Finland) started selling BBC and will soon start selling Bape, its gonna suck that alot of people in Sweden will now wear it instead of just some people like myself that made it more special.

again it doesn't fucking matter how many outlets offer the brand because the bottom line is that it's still at a price that most people cannot afford....everyday on my way to work i see easily 300 tents full of people under the god damn freeway underpass living off of rat burgers....more and more people are going into poverty........they don't care about a shitty ass shark hoodie or a cones and bones crew.....they want food and water.....

Caliroots announced couple days ago that they also going to have a line of Bape in their stock coming up. So yes more Sweds with Bape coming up, I dont see that as a good thing, one thing I love most about Bape/BBC was that the pieces were so exclusive.
